Services &
Facilities
In 2003, the City teamed up with the Florida Department of
Transportation and Federal Aviation Administration to fund
and complete the restoration of the aircraft parking apron
and taxiway serving the City’s Fixed Base Fueling Operations
Center. The industrial park adjacent to U.S. 90 East was
also improved by completion of an access road and taxiway
renovation funded by the Florida Governors Office of
Economic Development. The over $1 million in State and
Federal improvement funds spent will benefit air traffic and
business tenants such as Pre-Flight, Aviation Maintenance,
Bailey Aviation, CHC labs, Inc., Trauma One, and Timco’s
aircraft maintenance and repair facility.
Timco
A major tenant at the city’s airport, Timco, is one of the
world’s largest independent providers of heavy aircraft
maintenance services. The company leases six maintenance
hangars and a dedicated two-bay hangar for aircraft painting
operations. Timco’s staff mechanics perform contract work on
commercial jets for major and regional airlines, as well as
cargo carrier and military aircraft. The company also
supports the total community by being a benefactor to
various charities.
